VIN Check?

Is there an easy way to get a vin checked, basically just to see if it's stolen or not?

Just call the local police dept?

I've had good luck with that plan. Sometimes have to wait a day because it's not their top priority, but they've always responded.

They wouldnt do it for me when I wanted to check. Some reg was there reason. But I found this site its like carfax but for bike www.cyclechex.com (http://www.cyclechex.com)

I could run the VIN on Carfax if you PM me. When I put mine in it doesn't have the detail that a car would show but it comes up with basic records, so I'm not sure if that would be worth anything.
