so, i am planning a ride to colorado with some people and know if a few roads out there but need help if anyone can provide it. i'm trying to stay on mostly paved roads as most bikes going are sportbikes. was wondering if anyone knows any of the route that i have planned and if there are some other good roads around it possibly. figured this is the best place to check. thanks ahead guys.

edit: the updated route

I see you've been paying attention... most of the recommended roads are on your route.

The only road you have listed that i dont like is Rist (o). There tends to be gravel on that road all year long. when you turn off of hwy14 take stove prairie and buckhorn to hwy34. other than that you picked some nice and fun roads. If you get a chance go up hwy 40 from empire to the summit.... you'll see why!!!
Have fun be safe

Oh.. WHEN is your trip? Some of those roads aren't clear of snow until Memorial Day weekend.

this won't be until june or july. i looked over the roads you guys recommended and added them but most were just looking at the road and terrain and looking for roads that were up high and twisty

if any of you would be interested, you are more than welcome to join once we make our way into colorado

Actually US 40 goes over Berthoud Pass... But you're already doing it.. in the reverse direction north-south. IMO not nearly as fun as south-north.

made a change. might cut out wisconsin and just shoot straight to colorado on I80. yeah it's a pain but it would give us an extra day or two here. just had a quick question. i've been on frying pan rd but a long time ago and can't remember if it's paved or not.

It's been about 4 years but I did a 4x4 trip from Leadville to Basalt one time, and I recall Frying Pan Rd being paved between Basalt and the lake. East of that I don't know as I came down over Hagerman pass which is Jeep trail.
