If there are any other Veterans with the club, I have spoken with the Veteran's department at my school regarding the new g.i. bill and any information can be found at the following website:

http://www.gibill.va.gov/pamphlets/CH33/CH33_Pamphlet.pdf

I hope someone else finds this helpful.

I still have a little left, and I am gonna try and give it to my wife when she goes back to school. But that was the single greatest investment I have ever made in my life. For you folks that haven't used yours, you can pass it on.

So what's the new benefit? I have the GI bill and I've used about 9 grand so far.

I was in from 2002 to 2006, USMC. Does this mean my GI bill automatically changes to the POST 9/11 system in august? Do I get more money or does my balance stay the same?

It does not automatically change, you need to call the VA and see what your eligibility is.

You won't get "more money" in the sense of adding to what you have left, but depending on the school program you might get more money per month.

Either way, its worth a phone call to the VA (and the inevitable 2 hours on hold)
