Everyone said he'd end up in a heap at the bottom of some climb. Well, it wasn't a climb. The dumb ass got arrested in camp while static rope jumping and left his rig hanging for almost thirty days. When he got out of jail and went to retrieve it, he decided to make one more jump. The rope broke!! UV is a mother fucker!!

I've seen this guy do some things that have almost made me give up climbing.

The boy had skills, but very stupid, if you ask me!!

BTW - The climb in the video is not really a big deal. 5.7 is pretty easy. I'm still using my rope and harness, though!!

BTW - The jump that killed him was a 1,000' free fall onto a climbing rope. NOT a bungee cord!! His next jump probably would have killed him if this one hadn't. He was planning a 2,500' free fall on a climbing rope!!

I have never heard of any video of Dan's last jump. The video is confusing, however. They do show something that looks like a body free falling into the trees, but right before that, the narrator says there is no video of the fall (3:27). The falling object isn't flailing either. The sound is definitely dubbed in. I'm puzzeled...
