...rant about to start

Rick Santelli is my new hero. This guy has it right.

Funny how lots of people want the government out of their business..."Don't tell me I have to wear a helmet when I ride. That's for me to decide!" But some of these same people are cool with the government in their business when they won't/don't/can't pay their mortgage.

If we're going to stand up and fight for our rights to control government involvement in our lives when it comes to wearing helmets, be consistent and do the same when it comes to the government assisting those that can't pay their damn mortgage. A mortgage that they themselves agreed to and signed a binding contract. Or better yet, if you're alright with the government assisting these folks in need, then be consistent again and reward those that are doing right by paying their mortgages, no matter how hard it may be for them. What incentive do we give for those doing right?

The government lesson being taught here is the rewarding of bad behavior, whether intentional or not. Might as well say to motorists across the nation that are breaking the speed limit and disobeying the traffic laws that it's alright, we're going to pay your costs on the tickets...those of you doing the speed limit and not breaking any laws don't get anything. How about those folks that don't pay their electric/gas bills? It's o.k, we understand you're having tough times. How about those of you not paying your electric/gas bills get some form of assistance from us, the government. We'll help pay your bills and keep that electricity and gas going. We'll keep you and your family warm in the winter and cool during the summer. If you're struggling and making your payments no matter what, so what. If you're rewarded for doing wrong and get nothing for doing right, how many of us start doing wrong? Why do the right thing if you get rewarded for doing wrong and get nothing for doing right? Keep in mind, I'm not speaking of those on this forum, but the hundreds of millions of people across this nation. It's a bad idea to reward bad behavior on this magnitude. To me, it's just a bad path to start down.

K...done with my rant.

How 'bout that change?

They got it... and a hell of a lot more than they bargained for!

The libs all cried "paranoid" and "extremist" when anyone would use the word "socialism" during the campaign. And here we are only four weeks in!! There's really nothing better than being able to tell a liberal, "I told you so."

Man, I have a sweet tooth for this shit.
