After Dorna lawyers ripped their balls off and shoved them back into their nostrils.

Hopefully they have the motivation to do well...

I can't see why they would have any motivation. They got out because it cost too much. My guess is they will spend the absolute minimum required to not get sued, blued and tattooed.

I think Hopkins is going between the refrigerator and the sofa for the season. He will catch the races on Speed with the rest of us.

That sucks for Hopkins... :(

I agree with you Adam, I can't see how they can have any motivation. Especially Melandri, knowing he's going to get a sub-sub-par bike (it was already a sub-par bike to begin with!). Hopefully they come out fighting with everything they got, instead of just entering races, ride around for a couple of laps and retire/crash each time... (What? Did you say KR team?)

This is bad for everyone involved. Melandri running a bike thats way below par, little resources, and imagine if Melandri actually does well in once race. Dorna running a Kawasaki better than the factory Kawasaki? Bad news, thank god I'm on a Honda :)

Here's another link to that story:

I'd laugh if, simply to avoid a lawsuit with Dorna and the FIM, they had him go out, do a lap, and come back in at every single race, on last years bike no less. Hey, it wouldn't change the finishing order!:)

^^Actually its an all new 2009 model that OJ tested earlier this year. Only problem is parts were limited, hence the one-rider team as there wasn't enough new parts to support 2 riders.

Either way, not a good deal at all for Kawi or Hopper :(

do the '09 test pictures look like it has a different upper fairing from '08?

Speed channel said Melandri wanted some "testing" before he committed to ride it in anger...not sure what that means for the level of readiness.
