I'm down here in AZ & want something to get up in the areas a little cooler & cuz there are few AZ roads that aren't straight.

1) 09' KLR650 Out the Door (Tax, Title, License, Doc) for $5675.00... IS THIS GOOD??

2) Anyone recommend any Good Hard Case Bags for cheap?

3) Any recommended musts for the bike (ie Skid Plate)????

Thanks,
Dietrich

Hard bags bend when you dump the bike. Wolfman bags are better. Besides, they are mad in colorado:

Stock skid plate is crap. Here are the upgrades:

must haves for dual sports:

heavy duty skidplate
bark busters
better bars

As for luggage, hard (detachable) luggage is nice for long trips, but like stated above, hard bags turn a tip over with a few scratches into a tipover with really expensive busted up luggage.... i have a soft tailbag that holds MORE than enough for day trips, AND it doesnt make my bike any wider, which is good if you find yourself in single tracks.

not sure what your weight is, but when i got my DR i upgraded the springs to hold my fat ass and while the guy said he didnt have springs for a guy as heavy as me, the ones he had would be a great improvement, and he wasnt lyin...

Also start shopping for better tires, not sure what the KLR has on it, but since you are going to spend a lot more time in the dirt than street, look into more aggressive tires... ive got Kenda trackmaster 2s (Basically street legal knobbies) on the DR and love them over the stock trailwings and much better than the kenda 270's as well (dual sport tire).

Also since you are getting a KLR, i recommend joining a big KLR forum, theres a few things that are "Must do's" for them, the Dohickey mod comes to mind readily....

08-09 don't require a dohickey mod. check the website above.
