Got a 2006 KLR 650 which was first purchased in 11/06. Paid $3600.00 cash. Oh yeah, the bike had a total of 98 MILES. Showroom perfect, except where his son dropped it & scratch the tank a little.

It wasn't fun com'n home @ 60mph due to breakin miles though!!!!!!

Here's the posting on Craigs List. Don't know how long it'll be up.... http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/mcy/1058385652.html

It has no upgrades, but that's 1/2 the fun isn't it???? The scratches don't bother me cuz that bike is meant to be dropped! It came from a real nice home & you could tell he took care of his stuff! I'm gonna tickle something pink cuz I'm so excited!!!!

Now... to spend my weekends "breaking in" the engine!

Sick deal...

if it turns out that I really dig the dirt, I'll probably be going the KLR route as well.

Has anyone ever lost the childhood love of playing in the dirt???

I have grown to hate AZ street riding! Who wants to ride around town??? There isn't much pavement. When it's really nice to ride in the vally, it's frozen everywhere else. When it's really nice everywhere, it's only 120 degrees. When you do get 2 hours out where it's cooler it doens't last long on a sportbike! Arizona has a LOT of trail riding!!!

My spidey sense tells me I made a good choice! Plus it's fun to have 2 ponies in the stable!!!!!

Yeah I love how dual sports are popular because of the cheaper initial cost, but holy crap they just suck you in with upgrading things...

But it's a KLR, upgrades consist of duct tape and milk crates and other home spun contraptions.

Looks like a SWEEET Ride! Little short notice for this cat with work. I'm up here in North Phoenix if anyone is com'n through! A place to crash isn't a problem either.

Liked your bag setup. How much was it??? I am leaning towards a Hard Case on top & some soft sides?

So this weekend is dedicated to gettting to @ least 500 miles & an oil change on the princess this weekend. Breakin miles 0-500=4kRPM / 500-1000=6kRPM

I got pulled over by a Statie. After I pulled my helmet off I turned to the left & the Statie was standing there looking @ me.

I quickly asked "why did I get pulled over cuz it's definately not for speeding... That's impossible!!!!!!"

Insurance was cancled on the plates. Walked out w/ a warning. I gave him 3 vehicles insurance cards, which all 3 have more insurance than required.

Maybe I still have to worry 'bout the PO-PO w/ this bike!!! HA
