What is a realistic maintenance schedule for forks? Should I change the oil every year? When do fork seals normally fail? My bike is 6 years old and I've never touched the forks:)

Agree,

once a year for oil in both the forks and the shock.

Seals, when they go bad, but in the case of the shock just do it when you replace the oil.

In that case I need to do mine also. Is it difficult to do by yourself?

Shock is harder because you need highly compressed nitrogen to refill it with when you're done.

See Bartman at Faster for that part of the job!

Check out YouTube; there are some great step by step videos that explain how to do it. Ken, I say we experiment on Yueh's 748!!!

Um...that is a 749 S. I didn't pay x,000s more $$$ for you to mistake a 9 for an 8, and to just gloss over the extra digit...:scream1:

Sorry, It's hard to keep up with all of your high dollar equipment. I just ride old broken things like Hondas and Suzukis!!!:(
