While checking out the eye candy on that site, I came across this:

That paint scheme kicks ass! I love how the blue fades into the red on the tank.

Aprilia's signature mark:
SUPERSIZED, OVERWEIGHT exhaust that sheds 40lbs the moment you change it to ANY other MFG.

Yeah the rear end does look a little odd

but I'd still take one. :) Price is 20,000 euros which is probably about $25K. I want Honda to make a V-4 supersport for about half that. And with that CBR paint scheme. :hump:

And what is it with the gigantic curb feelers on the pegs of these bikes?

I wonder how close the price is going to be to the new BMW? I would like to get a new literbike but I'm getting a strong pull from that new R1 :)

Holy jeebus that RSV4 sech-say.
Does it come stock with the Brembo and Ohlins?

The "factory" model does. They also have one for more street oriented riding that probably doesn't have the Brembo and Ohlins stuff.

I like that they are using formed sheetmetal for the frame and swingarm-much better strength-to-weight ratio than the castings the Japanese are all going to. I like the looks, although I don't care for the "monoposto" seating.

My question is: Why does the front bank have the cam chain in the middle and the rear bank have the chain on the end? And why are they using "Hy-vo" type chains instead of the stronger/lighter standard type? Wonder if it's a noise issue regarding passing the regs, or whether they just want it a little quieter?

Sexy though, can't wait to see the Beemah stripped down like that.

Center of gravity appears very low, looks are a new direction which is usual for Aprilia...I agree the exhaust is fugly, but who keeps a stocker on an exotic Italian bike anyways? I would love to test ride one and compare to the 1098...

On closer examination, the cam chain for the front head is on the left side. The bulge in the center appears to be the drive for the exhaust cam. Dunno if the exhaust cam is chain or gear driven... :dunno:

I do believe you're 100% correct, I missed that small bulge on the far side. I'd also be curious to see what the hybrid drive is. I'd guess chain, as it doesn't look big enough for a geartrain unless there is an idler ger in between, which is possible. Hmmm.....

It's a gear chain hybrid.

someday I'll have an RSV4

I rode an 04 for a couple hours once, and loved the thing. Wish I could get my hands on it again. It cooked my calfs though, it was hard core.

This 09 looks brutal. Not too sure about the large fins though, but damn I would like to check her out...

Cool pics and links.
