I do agree that some names from the various areas of Asia can be difficult if someone is only fluent in English or other related romance languages.

However, the idea to make people change their sir names just so it is easier for poll workers is ridiculous. I do realize that she said this in a meeting in a off the cuff fashion.

Something Ron White said came to mind; “The next time you have a thought, let it go.”

 how hard is it to pronounce "Chan" or "Ko"? Not like it's "Apu Nahasapeemapetilon" ;)

I love that movie. He made another one that comes out this year. It looks pretty funny.

I sell lawn equipment. I have a lot of Vietnamese customers. Most of them change their first names, to "American names" Tony, Harry, or Tim. I always thought it was kind of funny. I guess its easier for them though.

Czzyck, Leibowicz, Siobahn .... like they're easy to pronounce? I have a Viet friend who spells his name "Hohm". Pronounced correctly he's got the best introduction: "Hi, I'm Hung" ;)
