So upon completion of the class, would I get a MRA number even though I'm not racing this season?

If you pass the class and pay for your annual racing license, yes.
You will also have to be an AMA member as well. They will
take your money no problem, even if you do not participate.
I do not know how long you may go without entering and griding
an actual race before your status is no longer valid. I think it is
three years. Someone more experianced in this matter please
correct if incorrect.

cough...cough...oh no, I may have to miss my first day of teaching...cough...cough...it appears as if I've come down with a severe case of throttle-itous and I think it's pretty...cough...cough...contagious....

Plus, I think the race school is good for 2 years? So even if you don't race this year, you'll be ready for next year.

Three years is the correct answer! Mr. Bash was paying attention at his race school!

Also, this class meets the requirement to GET a race license with the MRA. You still have to join the MRA and get your license. From this course you will receive a certificate of completion that you would present to the MRA when you apply for your license.

License application paperwork can be found here:

Please let me know if you have any other questions
