Interesting article on MSN. Never thought I'd see those two things in a comparison.

I'm kind of surprised that the braking distances are so close between the two.

Cars put a lot of rubber on the road compared to a bike. Note that the lateral acceleration of the car is higher too.

DirkTrue, I just thought the breaks would be weaker. And they might be, they just have twice as many. I'll take the Duc and day :up:

Actually cars and bikes have similar breaking distances. With four wheels and ABS, anyone with a pulse can mash down a break pedal, but it takes truley skilled individuals to bring a two wheeled machine to a halt.

I thought it was interesting that the Fit beat the Duc down the mountain.

Brakes were smoking though...

The article also said the road was covered in debris. I bet if it was a dry clean piece of road, the Duc would have been the victor.
