Hmm..I'm not aware of anybody named Jamie on here (name is from one of the comments), but I may well be wrong.
Sounds like he was a fairly young rider about to graduate. RIP

funny how it's always the motorcyclist <snip...>

It's not funny, that motorcyclist did collide the bejeezus out of that car! I too hope it was nobody here, but wow. He was hauling ass when that happened. Look at how it turned the car from the impact, after the bike was already on its side and leaking fluids.
=/

Anyhow.... Condolences to any friends he may have on here. RIP Jamie.

Jamie was my son's best friend. He was a good kid. His friends and family are devastated. He was almost 19.

Wow, that's about two blocks from where I live. I had a heads up on traffic that way when I was heading up to King Soopers, thought it was just construction...

It makes you want to slap silly all riders that have less than 10,000 miles on the odo and are under the age of 21.

RIP to yet another rider gone.

Where the helmet ends up has nothing to do with how it was worn. A friend of mine (45, wife, two kids) got nailed last year in FL by a bitch in a Yukon who saw him but "thought she could make it." A RETIRED FHP officer playing golf on a course at the intersection estimated his speed at 120 plus (his neighborhood entrance that he was leaving was 100 feet from the intersection) so the woman got off and the mans family got f-ed. He died. His helmet was ripped from his head upon impact with the ground.

As much as I hate to give a 19 yo kid the benefit of the doubt (no offense intended, I just remember how stupid I was) you should get the facts before making unnecessary assumptions.

RIP Rider.

Gotta keep a little in reserve on the streets folks. If you go "balls-out" all the time it leaves no room for mistakes.

The picture in the first post link speaks volumes.

There are three things to remember while riding motorcycles:

Have FUN!

Be CAREFUL!

And THINK!

Yep, I was thinking the same thing. No matter what the real cause, they always make it sound like the motorcyclists fault. Why don't they say there was a fatality after a motor vehicle vs. motorcycle accident? that way it's not just assumed the biker was at fault?

Sucks, regardless of whether as that guy in the 'Vette wasright and the rider was at fault, or whatever.

RIP, rider, godspeed to you. condolences to all.

Read an article that said a car ran into the back of a motorcycle and the highlight of the article was "If the rider was wearing a helmet he would have survived"

No if the douche bag driver was not speeding and paid attention to what the fuck was going on in front of them the rider would have survived...such BS

*SIGH* That makes 17 already, and it's not even May yet. My condolences to those that are grieving. To all who are reading this: Please be careful! As I told one of my customers yesterday, riding a motorcycle is cool, dying on one is not.

^^^^Now I am under 21 have about 13k miles under my belt and started and still ride a 650.

Anything over a 650 is pushing it for a starting bike. SV 650 Ninja 650 both starter bikes.
