View Full Version : It Finally Happened

Yep today was the day.
The ol' CBR ended upon it's side.
I dont know if it was the weather and
the coldness going around, but one minute
it was upright, and the next she was taking
a concrete nap.
Totally my fault, I should of seen it coming.
I have had alot going on lately and was simply
not paying attention. Do not let your gaurd down,
even for a second. It bit me, but it could of been
worse.
Sad part is, there was a witness from this board.
Now I have to live with the shame.

Peace Bash

Hope you're o.k. Bash, hope the bike isn't to damaged either. Just one of those crappy and soggy days.

Sat May 2nd, 2009, 06:06 PM
There should be no shame for this- we’ve probably all done it. I’ve crashed on the brakes, on the gas, and even a few times without the motor running…
Hope you and machine are OK.

Any chance you were turning and hit some crosswalk paint? I was driving my truck this morning in the rain, and my truck slipped on the paint. I have never had a car slide on crosswalk paint, but I think they changed the compound and now its even more slick than ever. It was on the same paint that my back end on my bike slides several inches when its dry out, no matter what speed I take the corner.

+1 on riding distracted. This is why all cagers talking on cells are dangerous. Glad to hear it wasn't too major and you walked away from it.

Coming from someone that is all too familiar with the feeling - that sucks, but I'm happy to hear you are (I'm assuming relatively) OK!!

How much damage to the bike and how banged up are you?

-PUCK-
Sat May 2nd, 2009, 09:40 PM
First off - there isn't anyone who NEVER crashes. So they're not a big deal, happens to everyone sometime. Just got to learn from the stunta's and racers, it's a fact of life.

Just glad it sounds minor and you were able to handle things bro.
Gimme a holler if you want any help with anything. I think I still have some fiberglass sheets and resin in the garage if needed.

(i'll laugh and poke fun at you in person next time man )

Yea, it was really more of a tipover. The barend hit the ground,
Hence the posting.A little damage to the bike, but nothing to speak of. A few scratches here and there, had to pop the cracked tailight back into place and tighten it up.As Lil' Shane put it, we are all human. And now that thats outta the way the new shoes are on her, she has a transfusion, and it's time to get out on the road this month and go have some fun. See you all out there.

wow! Sorry to hear you went down. Really glad your ok and the bike to. As so many have said, everyone crashes, even guys named Bash. With a name like that I am surprised there are so few crashes!!! I must be supremely talented cause I can crash my bike while I'm not even on it! It does save a lot of skin that way, but you'd never know it looking at me.

No kidding! Our Monster would fall over all the time just sitting in the garage. What really urked me though was it fell on my GSXR once and broke the seat scowl.

Glad to hear all's good Bash!
