so the true Northies are putting together a memorial day ride on the 24th.
http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=31140

this particular Sunday also marks the all bikes drags over at Bandimere that our friends @ grandprix motorsports are hosting (many of us have signed up at recent Bostons bike night) though sign up is still available for I believe there is no limit.
http://www.bandimere.com/events/event_detail.php?eventID=365&dTargetDate=05/01/2009

here the plan:

let's wait for details to develop from the ride organizers and join them for a spirited morning run through the Canyons.
After lunch ride a little more and then split off towards the drag strip to let em rip.

sound good?
who's in???

so canyon carving and racing the 1/4 is a social event as far as your concerned.

I think I love you.

Are you allowed to race with a textile jacket/gloves and jeans at Bandimere?

RULES
full face helmet snell 2000, 2005
chain guard
leather footwear above ankle, gloves
leather jacket permitted unless faster than 120 then full leather mandatory
number plates required can be purchased for $5
valid nhra competition license mandatory for riders of all motorcycles running 9.99 or quicker...hmmm hope I dont go that fast...

some other minor rules but those are probably the "deal" breakers

Tue May 19th, 2009, 12:33 PM
so who's definitely going to Bandimere this Sunday?

I have yet to call our buds @ grandprix to get the skinny on if we have to be there first thing in the morning vs. whenever we decide to show up.

I'm still down to ride the memorial day ride first and then bust over to the track after lunch as per my first post

Any word on what time the bike racing ends? The bandimere website says:

"Sunday morning, gates open at 8 am for the Vickery Motorsports MOTORCYCLE MADNESS. A slightly different format will have motorcycles-only in the morning, with the Jr Drag Racing Series and Weston Jr Comp beginning qualifying once the motorcycle portion of the day is completed. ATV's are welcome to race at the Motorcycle Madness, on the 1/8th mile."

So, Im wondering if this is a morning only thing?????

That's BS. They should let you wear textile jackets under 120 mph.

yes you can!
the sign up thing was simply put on by grand prix @ Bostons over the last few bike nights to promote the event.

I have a leather XL jacket if you need to borrow it , but it says Suzuki Racing on it so I think that adds like 30 HP an put you way above the 120 mark!! :drink:

yep!!! I have the patients of a crackhead without crack. i tried though, I can get on the bike just cant hold it up very well and it hurts like hell to sit there with my foot on the peg for more than a minute. I need forward controls!

oh well had to try. without goals what do we have to look forward to.

I am walking with only one crutch now with minimal to no pain.

So I'll walk around and take pictures instead, I'm cool with that

The send-off this morning was cool. Wish I'd thought to get the camera out when you were sitting on the beemer with your dog. What's the dog's name, by the way?

The racing was fun. I ran a personal best of 11.18 @ 142 mph. I was told to put a kill switch on my bike. Damn the badluck but good times for sure.

The racing was fun! I was able to crack 120mph with the R6. But, they told me that I needed to get a set of leathers that zipped together.
Got caught in them storm on the way home. Worst riding of my life!!!

That's not too shabby. 1.9s were the best I managed on my F4i when I was cracking 11.8s.

11.1 still seems a bit sluggish for a litrebike.

It might be a little slow. It was only my second time racing at Bandi on a bike. It's still stock. Next time I might be a little faster!!!!
