Dual Sport Ride
Saturday afternoon, meet @ 12:00 to ride.
Western Omlette @ 11:15 to eat.
Should be back by 5:00 PM
Low impact ride to Canyon City and back thru Cripple Creek.
Down Shelf Road and up Phantom Canyon if it is opened.
I heard on ADV that it might be closed due to road repair.
If it is we can retrace our route. You will need a plated bike
and a desire to get it dirty. If you want to, bring a non dirt
orientated type bike. My CBR could make this ride but that
would be like racing world super bike with a scooter, sure you
can but why embarrass yourself and ride alone.

Hey Bashed, how is this for a newb dirt rider? The wife wants to hit this.

Speaking from experience on this one.........Bash is never good for a newb dirt rider!!!!!!! Uhmmm let's see here broken wrist, dislocated knee. Oh and this his idea of some good husband and wife fun together

I make it a habit to never ride dirt with Bash........even at his easiest "extreme" is a word that comes to mind.

But we shall wait for Mr Bash to come along and give his recommendation........wow if he say's yes maybe I will go too. I would have to say that Sweetie might not have the best time though he does like it rough and dirty dirty.........

Oh relax Bash  you can unpucker now I'm only kidding I will be at the mall.

Devaclis
Tue May 5th, 2009, 09:39 AM
Sweetie REALLY wants to go on this so we may hit it up and just stay at the back of the pack all day :)

I am excited to get her on a proper dirt ride. No time to be a pussy, just fuckin' ride it hard and fix it later.

If I don't have to go to Denver, count me in--and us slower folk can ride together. Time for that new tire!

Tue May 5th, 2009, 02:05 PM
It will be mostly dirt roads wide enough for a car but an over abundance of washboards. It might be muddy from the recent weather but no deep stuff cause the roads are pretty hard packed. Oh yeah, I'm in.:scramble:

zetaetatheta
Tue May 5th, 2009, 02:10 PM
I was on part of shelf road Sunday no mud, and no dust.

Bashed
Tue May 5th, 2009, 02:14 PM
This ride is newb easy. there is only one part that might be difficult going up and over the 1st tunnel. I will be happy to ride any bike up and over.
My wife made it up and over last year no problem. And she wreaks on the flat level section grabbing a handful of front brake. All of the rest is like Gsxr Scott says, wide enough for a car, hell ,its the old railroad bed from Cripple Creek, so it isn't even steep. It does gain elevation all the way to CC though, so bring some warm clothes as 75 here means 55 up there. I layer so I can give and take as neccesary. See you people on Saturday.

Peace Bash

Deviclis, you know what they say,
Once you go south, you might not return.
I mean, once you go south, you might end up in jail.
I mean, Dallas will show you a great time.

Tue May 5th, 2009, 02:58 PM
Dallas has come to the North to party a few times. Gotta repay the favor!!

I wish, but it's way too tall for me and I'd crash it. He'd be very upset if I wrecked his baby. Maybe I can get him to go though. He really needs to get out of the house.

Wow, looks like we are going to have a large turnout.
That's great! The SOCO welcomes you to our neck of the woods.
See you'all on saturday. Bring your camera's for the inevitable
dirt naps the bikes will be taking. The trick is to get the shot
before they can pick the bike back up.
Peace Bash

You guys be safe

Thats funny right there, cuz I am the safety guy at work.
We will have a safety meeting before the ride, lol.
It looks like the weather is going to be on the cool/cold side so
dress accordingly. We will ride even if it snows, just adds another
element to overcome.

If you guys get up here we will hook up for sure, I'll let Bash diddle his ol'e mistress for old time sake.
Would have joined you on this but Rampart opening got first right of refusal. And I would have trucked down that far, how was that ride?
