Does any one have a good route that they know of to Bishop's Castle other than just taking 25? I want to go down there this saturday.

I've been looking at riding 285 all the way down to Canon City via 50, stopping in Royal Gorge. Then just take 67->96->165.

Definitely an early stater and an all dayer.

This could be a fun route... Great dual sport route. Shelf Road is part of the Phantom Canyon loop from Cripple Creek, and both are packed dirt/gravel, IIRC.

Take Hwy 126/67 south from Pine Junction to Woodland Park (aka horsepower hill). Take Hwy 24 west from Woodland Park to Divide and head south on Hwy67 to Cripple Creek. Take CrippleCreek-Florissant Rd west out of Cripple Creek and take left at High Park Rd going south. This will turn into Co Rd11 and eventually bring you to Hwy9. Take Hwy9 south to Hwy50. Take Hwy50 west to Texas Creek. Take Hwy69 south to WestCliffe. Take Hwy96/Main St east to Hwy165 and then head south.

I was shooting from the hip on a route we took a couple of years ago. All I remember was heading through Cripple Creek, then heading down some great 2 laners, eventually spitting out on 50... maybe it was highway 9 with a connection with CC...

Sorry, bit foggy but a great ride.

Be careful on CO RD11 ran into 2 state troopers yesturday. 58 in and 35. Its a high fatally rate on that road so there is no way they will let you off with a warning. Trust me I got the ticket for proof.
