Hey all,

I have just added a SUNDAY lapping day for cars and bikes at HPR on the 24th (Memorial Day weekend). We will be doing 30 minute sessions (30 min cars, 30 min bikes).

I've heard that some riders shy away from track days because the racers can make it a bit of an intimidating experience...well, The MRA is racing a double header that weekend in Hastings, so if you're looking to come out and ride in a more relaxed environment (on a WEEKEND, no less), this is the perfect opportunity!

Register online HERE (http://www.highplainsraceway.com/lapping-days.html) and save $10 versus paying at the track!

Anyone planning on camping at the track Saturday night? Websites says they have hook ups...anyone ever stayed out there?

i dont believe there is any overnight camping allowed

Thats what I thought as well but the front page of their website says they do now.

RV HOOKUPShttp://www.highplainsraceway.com/images/x.gif
HPR now has RV Hookups (electrical only) available for rental. Use our new Online Form (http://www.highplainsraceway.com/rv-reservations.html) to make your reservation for a hookup. Pay at the track with credit card or check.

If they do now a couple of questions come to mind:
Do you have to get the power spots or can you stay in an open area for a reduced cost (or free?)?
What is the latest you can show up the night before?

Overnight use and gate staff must be pre-arranged, per the policies page http://www.highplainsraceway.com/pdf/HPR-RV-Rental-Policies.pdf

What if you have never been on track before? Probably a better idea to attend an instructional event first?

Quoted from the pdf:
"Drivers/riders who have no previous track experience will be required to go through a short track orientation session with the track manager on duty before they will be allowed on the track."

It might be a good idea to ask someone else that has been on a track before to help you out. Also to help you with some common things, lines, brake points, do's and don'ts etc.

Nice seeing familiar faces and some new ones as well. Good day at the track to say the least! Congrats to the HPR group for having put together an amazing track. Cant wait to do it again.

Any chance that the guy taking pictures in turn 1 was someone on here?

Weather held out just long enough. Sounds like all the rides ended up getting wet, the wind just dried it out by the time it got out east.
