The Registrar's Office at the University of Colorado at Boulder seeks a Coordinator of Student Technology Personnel to serve on the technology team for the department of 37 full-time staff and over 70 student workers/part-time staff.

As a member of the technical management team, this position will manage the department's Help Desk for user software and hardware support, supervise up to 15 student workers, administering performance planning and appraisals, train student workers, develop and document technology related policies and instructions using order tracking software for all computing and printer needs, track orders for successful completion, resolve overdue and escalated problem orders, and provide training and support for specialized office software like email, imaging, and fax software.

The Coordinator will be responsible to re-engineer and maintain the help desk according to industry best practices, implement methodologies to improve first call resolution, manage customer perceptions, and build strong internal relationships, choose appropriate technology and other resources to maximize help desk effectiveness, build a qualified help desk team through innovative hiring and training techniques, implement innovative staffing and scheduling models for guaranteed coverage, develop a customer care philosophy that ensures customer satisfaction, analyze help desk performance through various statistical and reporting methods, and market the image of the help desk as a support group showcase that advances the Registrar's IT vision and strategy supporting a variety of technical services in a highly dynamic academic environment.

The Coordinator will serve as backup to the firewall security system administrator by configuring, and monitoring of the department Sidewinder G2 firewall and use of security measures and encryption to protect data and emails, and conduct of personnel in relation to the protection of data by ensuring and implementing the organization's information security policies and procedures, providing security training and awareness to all employees and student workers, monitoring compliance with the organization's information security policies and procedures among employees and student workers, and monitoring internal control systems to ensure that appropriate information access levels and security clearances are maintained.
