View Full Version : Movers cracked my fairings!

So, I'm new to Fort Collins from Oregon. When my bike was taken out of the moving truck they had cracked my left upper fairing and the front. :x Problem is, my '96 FZR600 has original fairings. I'm at a loss as to where to begin finding replacements. I've filed a claim, but I'd like to be somewhat knowledgeable when they talk to me about it.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where I should start and what to do?

HELP! :banghead:

Bike Bandit (http://www.bikebandit.com) and parts fishparts fish (http://www.partsfish.com) would be a good place to start

Check out

http://www.empiregp.com/

Might be able to get them fixed, no need to buy a new one. They are in the process of getting my fixed. Reasonably priced too.

it's just a fizzer... i mean really

welcome to CO Shara!! you kick their butts til they give up all the $$$ you deserve!! Cha Ching :P

as for parts :dunno: you might wanna get an estimate from a GOOD body shop in case you can't find OEM. there's a guy down here about all the BMW people use for insurance stuff (least all the ones i know). he's damned expensive but he's damned good too.

Just wondering ... is it the same bodywork as the 97+ FZR600R? What color?

HELP! :banghead:

Scott Morse & Crew at Morse Custom Fiberglass & GP Composites in the Springs not only does repair of ABS original plastic, as well as paint work and insurance estimates... IF you don't wish to have them repaired, he can also get ahold of OEM plastics to replace your cracked bodywork.

Give Scott a call, he'll fix ya up!

Thanks guys for the reply, and Hello to all! Can't wait to meet those of you that I didn't meet last year on my AMA trip out here.

Side note, my bike sure doesn't want to start very well. Any other suggestions for going from 500 ft to 5000 feet above sea level besides rejetting???

Uhh well, if it's having trouble at altitude (short of no air filter) rejetting is exactly what the bike needs, regardless of her feelings on the subject.
