I have a client on I-25 and Broadway that needs a guy with solid Linux. Maybe for just a day, maybe for a week, but not long term.

Need to be able to put in a security certificate and get them up and running.

Can do W-2 or independent (with LLC, Scorp, C-corp, million in insurance)

Also just heard, the person needs to have Oracle Wallet??? to generate the cert request and then install.

the company does not have this? That is not something I know of many people having as an "independent" or "consultant"

Now they say they need a Oracle Apps DBA with Web Interface support to apply/generate the cert request using Oracle Wallet Manager.

at least from looking at my 10g and 11g servers, wallet comes as part of the server package, nothing you need to install seperately to manage keystores

so it sounds like they just need someone who can generate/manage certificates for oracle and import them into owm... of course what it sounds like and what you find out when you actually get on site are rarely one in the same.

Yes that is what I understand as well. They are system down now, so are in panic mode.

None of their IT team in NY knows anything about Oracle or Linux or certs, and there has never been any previous documentation of process for them. So they are in crunch mode.

Oh and thank you for the Wallet info.

theres a bunch of documentation out there on oracle wallet manager and if you've got any experience with key management the rest looks easy enough, generate a key, get it signed by your CA, get it back, import it into wallet. build a procedure and take note of when your certs expire so this doesnt happen again.. drink beer.

verisign i wouldnt imagine will help you with oracle wallet, they'll help you with generating a key only.. do they have a support contract with oracle for their servers? open a request.
