Thanks, yeah, I was pretty strict about not wanting wheels that stuck out past the fenders but wanted them to be at the edge.

I have been looking into options, but Garrett has a new bolt on turbo out that has been failing miserably. And their customer service has turned to sh*t. But there are many simple options out there I am researching.

Yeah, theres actually a couple here in the Denver area with 800+ already from last year. In the springs, there are some DSM's with some high hp as well.

My goal isn't going to be the fast down the drag strip, but it will be a balance of good handling, with some decent hp and clean looking car. Not all spaceship'd out.

Never would have thought. I remember when I was planning out a DSM build that the compressor map on the GT28 was looking mighty fine. And I thought Garret set the level of quality in the industry, too. Granted, I haven't been following automotive closely for the past few years, I can't believe Garret would start putting out bad product.

Its pretty bad... they released a new pair of turbo's (GT3071 and GT3076) as "bolt on". Not a single person has had them work correctly. People have tried to contact Garrett about this and they are tight lipped. Tuners have said the only way they get the turbos to work is with engine internal upgrades as well as other system upgrades like fuel.

Yeah Garrett has been around for a while and built a crazy good name for itself. But this new turbo they came out with is already making them lose customers.

Yeah I'm with you. I feel the same way about my Talon. The only thing that shows as not stock is the triple A pillar and FMIC. Hate "park bench" wings and the fugly bodykits all the wannabes throw on their Eclipse RS's.

Most reasonable people hate everything fast & furious. I can't stand it when I see the super riced out civic, integras, tiburons, etc.

Definitely the way to go though, Jay. I have always loved the Evo's since the Evo VIII, so you gots me super jealous.

But shopping cart wings are so convenient!

Looks good, perfect wheel size and offset. What wheels are they? They look like an slightly different version of Work's?

+1 I have used any factory wing on my cars as my drink and hotdog holder when I goto car meets......

Rota torques, they are knock off's on the Work Emotion CR KAI's but more concave. Same weight or less but without the name and just over 500 bucks cheaper.

I had 3 piece Work VS-XX wheels on my last EVO, won't even go into what I went through with those haha.

but i dont think rotas belong on nice cars.

Yeah, they don't have the best reputation since everyone jumps on the JDM bandwagon which I did before as well. But they weigh just a tad less than the higher costing reputable Work Emotions.

This fit my budget and looked better than the Work Emotion CR KAI wheel. We will see how it goes. And this is coming from someone that has had several high end wheels on several past cars.

Jay-

She's looking tough man. Very good looking ride. What else have you done or plan to do with it as far as engine management, injectors, fuel pump, and exhaust?

Keep us updated...I love the look!

Tuning will most likely be with a Cobb AP or possibly with ECU Flash, still waiting for further results and time researching. But yeah, once the turbo is swapped out, so will the fuel system to accomodate. Still looking at other things first; clutch/coilovers. The turbo swap might be a while, maybe towards end of year, not sure yet. Got some other priorities I just found out about last week ;)

Eh I have never heard of anyone really having issues with Rotas. Just all the JDM nutswingers hate on them lol. I had work xd-9's on my last car and liked them but I find that you can get good quality for cheaper out there. I have VMR V710's on my car now and love them. Were only $700 for the set and like them a lot.
