So I have been looking at joining a gym.
Looks like its either Ballys or 24hr fitness.
Anyone have any input on either of them?

If you join a Boot Camp, avoid Genesis Fitness.

I found a smaller place in Arvada that I was paying like $15/month with decent hours and all the equipment I needed. Granted, no pool, spa, circle track, but that was all shit I wouldn't of used anyway. I like the smaller places.

LifeTime Fitness smokes any other club I've been to.
No comparison, and $120/mo for the family.

Your right about that. I'm also a lifetime member for about 5yrs now. I started back in Schumberg, IL. I go the one on E470 and Parker rd. $60 month.

One of the best gym. Forget 24 or Ballys join Lifetimefitness.

24 for 24 a month and I can go anytime which is what I really like I can go the at 3 in the morning and be me or at 5pm and 120 other people are there too. Plus all classes are free to members, pool, hot tube, steam room, Stana, and I can go to in 24 hour fitness anywhere.

I also have a 24 hour had it since 90....12 bucks a month ,any club. I like the flexability to go to whereever I want, and whenever I want....If you notice they are the one that keeps expanding(New one going in on County Line)....got a bunch of fliers on lifetime...looks great but for 60 month.....Ouch. Its pretty much about what you are looking for? Some have better equipment to use.

I am a 24 Hour Fitness member myself. I like it, and some of their new gyms (Santa Fe and Belleview) have plasma/lcd tv's on every cardio machine with full basic cable. Bunch of new locations opening too.

I go to 24Hour (Lincoln/Oswego). Find one that is close, take a tour, talk to the staff, etc.

Still taking apps for a workout partner :)

Free at work.

Sorry, just wanted to participate. I used to have 24 hr fitness in Broomfield and it was ok. As with most gyms, they oversell which makes it hard to get a good workout during peak times.

Now I bicycle to work and use the gym here.

I have both, and I prefer Bally's. Plus Bally's is way cheaper. I don't plan on renewing my 24 hour fitness membership when it expires.

I started both with a 3 year agreement. 24 hours fitness was through work, and thye paid about $550 for 3 years. Bally's was a bit more, but I also got a lot more and a bunch of personal trainer sessions. Now I only pay Bally's $9/mo.

You know I am getting a great workout finishing my basement. If you need to get a workout I will let you come do some framing work and won't even charge you those pesky gym membership fees!

I've been a 24 Hour Fitness guy for about a year and really like it. Bally is nice but the ones I've worked at (personal trainer) or worked out at only had dumbells up to 80lbs, HA!!!! If all I was doing was arms, that would be cool, ya know...

Now I'm working out on my dad's BowFlex and running in the local park, no 24's in Louisiana:( We have the best gym in the country in Lafayette(Red's Health and Racket) but those bastards wanted $100 for a 4 week membership:shocked:

I'll be back to 24 when I move to Berkeley CA in about 3 weeks....

Wrong with that being the bast gym. Had an issue of Musles and Fitness because of something with the CS Swat team in it. But anyway they did the top 10 gyms in the country for fitness. The top gym in the country is somewhere in Utah it only has 30 members. Partly because they have people that use the gym that don't exsist if you know what I mean.
