Maybe not a camcorder, but a helmet cam type setup might work. What're you trying to record & how much of it?

GoPro. Good quality, good picture.

Quite a few of us here use the Hero Cam, from GoPro. It's got a big suction cup to stick on cars. Not true HiDef but you can record to an SDHC card. I've also got a "bullet" cam from Helmetcamera.com that used to work with my MiniDV Sony Handycam; but I am finding the Hero cam is a cleaner setup without the wires.

goPro looks sweet. I will be taking my touareg to the sand dunes over the 3 day weekend. I am not sure how long it records, but I wanna capture it all. Perhaps 3-4 hours of the trip?

just placed an order. : )

GoPro records on 2Gb cards. One card will hold around 60minutes. So bring a few cards. I have a 4Gb SDHC card and the camera recognizes it, but shuts off after the first 2Gb. So I have to restart it to record on the second half. But apparently there is going to be a firmware upgrade that will let it record on the whole card.

+1 for the GoPro

I think you get just under an hour in the cameras standard configuration. You would either just have to swap out sd cards...or download to a laptop so the card would be clean.

Good luck.

Just got it and going to use it for the first time at R2SL. 640x480 for two hours which is supposedly better then the GoPro. /shrug we'll see

The new GoPro wide will record 2 hours on a 4GB CD card. The limitation is really your batteries.

I use my GoPro every day. I like it. There are some small issues but overall it is a good camera for the price.

There is no way to speed up that video from the camera. You will need a good editing program to make it look like you are riding with any indication of speed.

No, I am implying that you are slow and that you will need an application to edit the video to make it "appear" you are going fast. Like the closing credits to a Benny Hill episode.
