I can't race this season at all, but will hopefully be able to race next season. Is there a way that I can keep my number even if I am not going to race this season and use it next season??

Nope...If you don't race this year the MRA can give your number away. You would have to race in 3 race weekends to keep your number.

Or have a circumstance that is beyond your control. Like your broke your leg or somethin like that. I heard that with extinuating circumstances you may be able to keep your number.

3 digits are not as highly sought after as 2 digits for obvious reasons. If you have some special reason, and just talk to the board, I doubt they would have a problem with it.

I guess its not a really big deal, but I would rather keep the same number until I can move up to double digits.

If you raced in three weekends last year (2004), your number is not available to anyone else this year (2005).

If you don't race 3 weekends this year (2005), then your number becomes available next year (2006).

Keep an eye on the MRA Yahoo list for when the license packets become available and request one (they probably won't send you one unless you renewed your license for this year). Send it in right away (ie: the day after you get it in the mail), and you're almost garanteed your old number.

Membership apps have been up on the MRA site for a little while now Bob. ;)

 I'm talking about next year, Ralph. If he doesn't renew his membership for this year, then he won't get an app in the mail for next year, and will have to watch the Yahoo list to find out when they do become available.
