Has anyone been down to Cancun recently? I will be there for a week next month and was wondering if anyone has a good place to visit or something not so popular but fun to do?

I went a few years back but I know there were tons more to do than I tried out. Thanks for any ideas.

I got sick of the same ole cancun. I spend 1-2 weeks in Riviera Maya at an all inclusive, and if i want to have a little outside fun, i hit playa del carmen, where you can find any trouble you want with ease.

Yeah, it's no Tahiti. But it beats a warehouse in commerce city with the walls painted like a beach.

Hell yeah! Depends on what you wanna do, Scer. If you just wanna party, stay in Cancun. If you wanna some nice beaches, some culture and some good food, head down to Playa Del Carmem, Akumel, and Tulum.

Im headed that way in 21 days and can't freakin wait!

Went last year and took an eco tourisim outing, saw anundeground river, and climbed one of the last open pyramids.

That one, it was really cool. The Pyramids are going to be closed to climbers soon, so if you still can, climb one.

We also went to Coco Bongo. Its a bit pricey, but pay the extra and get a table. You need to go there early in the day, reserve it, and come back later and wait for the club to open. But the place gets sooo packed you'll be glad you did. Even at a table, you're gonna be uncomfortably close, but you get a waiter then, and like all things in Mexico, tip the guy/gal well at first, and you will want for very little all night. The show is simply amazing.

Also your resort should offer some decent pre packed excursions.

Damn, looks like a lot of peeps are heading South of the border. I'll be heading to Cabo 10AUG-20AUG.

I've been to Cancun a couple of times, I'd recommend renting some quads that run you into the jungle and the beaches.
