I am thinking of getting a K&N vs. the stock air filter. Any suggestions either way? I am getting a little hesitation if I crank the throttle in every gear. No, my bike has not been re-jetted for high altitude.

Giant PIA.
I would just invest in a second foam filter, that way you can always have a clean one ready. Almost guarantee the foam (dual element) will be better air flow and just as effective.

Seriously wasting $ on that filter, jetting is your problem.

If you're always on the street, K&N is awesome. If you plan on seeing ANY dirt, stay foam.

Oh, and rejet.

James Dean jet kit. Easy to do. Took me about 30 minutes.

You can get it cheap from Thumpertalk.com OR, if you do your research at that site, find out exactly what parts you need and purchase them individually online for a significant savings.

Also do the 3x3 mod after you jet. If you want some help or instructions let me know. It really opened up my DRZ and it needs to be done on all of them :)

Do the 3x3 get the pipe on it you want, get an FCR carb now if you think you might ever throw down for one, take it to Eddie Cisneros and have him dyno jet that bitch.

or do what Dana said for the cheap/quick/easy fix.

How much money do you want to spend on your DRZ?

MRD Pipe. Don't fall for the Yosh scam...and slip-ons only make noise on these bikes, the header is the restrictive section.

Get a full system or an "E" head pipe

I already have the pipe. I had it on until I had to put the spark arrestor on, I just have to switch them out again. I am not looking to do the whole upgrade package. Just looking for the response when I twist the throttle.
