If I remember correctly it was because when cops used to work late nights one of the few places open to eat was donut shops. That's what I remember hearing somewhere anyway.

That could have some truth to it, when I was younger the only places open late at night were the Winchells Doughnuts and 7-11.

makes sense.. but in all reality how many people think donut jokes and calling officers pigs really has any affect?

ill give someone 20 bucks to call an officer a dirty pig to his face though lol
