I havent riden since 2003 ish? Last bike was 2000 ZX-6R. Never been to canyons. The last speeding ticket I got was when riding with a group of cycles to Pueblo and I sold the bike shortly after that :(

I hope to take some pix 2nite.

SOME of the best advice I was given when I started was to go and ride by myself.

I am a pretty safe person. I Learned a BUNCH, got better, got confident, then took training to unlearn my bad habits LOL.

Riding by myself brought out the zen in riding. I hardly ever ride in groups now, unless it is the kind of ride you need to have someone with you on.

I made a nice plate bracket eliminator for Supa77. Check it out.

Your best bet would be to go to the R6 forums and look around what people have done and what they've used. There's a ton of places locally and on the 'net to get the parts you'd want.

I'd start with locals TFOG and 303Cycle as they are both CSC members and have helped a ton of people on the board. Good guys all of them.

Cheapest route as a do-it-yourselfer is ebay.

Good luck with your mods.

Just be'n aware of where things are in your bike will help you to do it yourself for virtually no cost. I did my fender elminator for less than $50 (the turn signals for the eliminator were $35-$45 of that cost)

I did the eliminator for my wife's 09 GSXR for $7.

the large fairing unscrewed from the subframe, put in two 4-hole L-brackets and bought a can of black Krylon to make it nifty.

Home Depot special, but it solves the problem.

Might also want to get a shop manual. Not an owner's manual but the shop manual. I'd bet you can find it free in .pdf somewhere...probably the R6 forums or maybe someone here has one.
It'll make your life a lot easier!
And welcome!

I'm not handy, read "lazy". :)

Although . . . with as many Handy Manny episodes I've been forced to watch, you'd think I'd learn a few things.

Although it is technically a girls bike, based on the fact that I do not know 1 dude that rides one, the R6 is a good looking ride.

Even better Rey, his plate is on with zip ties since the previous owner thought a sawsall was a great way to remove the rear fender!
It's like a monet - as long as you don't get too close the creative solution looks good!

Have you seen those new flip brackets that you can push a button thats mounted up with the hand controls and it flips the plate up so it can't be seen.

I think it makes you a lesbian. Not one of the hot sexy ones that feature in high class pornos, but the kind you see arm wrestling for the last bit of chew at a truck stop on a logging road.
