Computer Recycling

I need to get rid of an old computer for my Mom. Anybody know a place that recycles them for free?

I called Microcenter, but they aren't taking any at the moment.

We were recently able to find a vendor that offers a free electronic recycling program to our area. We have scheduled to have them here on Monday, August 3rd from 10am-12pm. They will be accepting most items with exception to large boxy television sets, microwaves and home appliances. If you are interested in utilizing this service, please respond by next Monday with how many items you anticipate on recycling so that I can provide an estimate to them.

When my Architecture firm got rid of all of our older computers we were able to donate them to a school and write it off :)

I use ecocycle cause I'm pretty sure it won't happen with them.

Best Buy will charge you 10 bucks but give you a $10 gift card. Even that might only be on monitors, towers I think are free. Hard drives just need to be removed.

Well since I leave Wednesday for Mexico before that. We can maybe meet up for lunch or something as early as tomorrow.

And yes before you ask they are a true 100% recycler. They even grind our HD's up into metal scrap and then recycle that. We have to have that due to financial regulations.
