I drove by there on my way to OTD this morning and wondered what all the police tape was about. Damn shame.

Interesting. And the news is already calling them a gang.

Interesting how the reporter calls the Street Soldierz a gang.

I'd say the reporter used the word correctly... A gang is a group (http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/wiki/Group_(sociology)) of people who, through the organization, formation, and establishment of an assemblage, share a common identity (http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/wiki/Identity_(social_science)).

I always like it when the media goes out of their way to stir up shit. "The gang's website says they were founded in 2003 and are trying to build a positive influence in the neighborhood... but also on their website was a rap song that is filled with gunshots! Here's a quote from that rap song that is profanity-laced and all about killing whitey, stealing his money, raping his women, and selling drugs to his children. If that's what the song is about, it was only a matter of time before shots would be fired. Live from the scene, I'm asian reporter Trisha Takanawa."

by that definition ya, you're right. But to the masses the word "gang" represents a completely different meaning.

A good portion of you guys are focusing on the wrong part of this story.

This sucks! I am good friends with a couple guys in that club, and they looked like scary fuckers. But in reality the were cool as hell and good people.

I have come across this group before. They seem like such a great positive bunch of people. What can we do for them? I think this is their web site: http://www.streetsoldierz.org/ - for some reason, the links don't seem to be working for me...

I spoke to one of my customers that is a member and got the skinny. It turns out that 3 of the 4 people shot were not even members, and the shooting was a result of unrelated Crips/Bloods gang activity.
