Have we taken notice of the recall information? The news breezes right over it.”Beef recall involves drug resistant strain of salmonella (http://www.9news.com/rss/article.aspx?storyid=120030)”

I suppose the news regarding health means more to some versus how many people got shot during recreational rides.

Wow, I'm only 10 min into it and it is already very disturbing. A genetically modified corn that is itself registered as a herbicide. Nerve gas from WW2 that was slightly modified to be a pesticide. Scary stuff. And I'm eating while I'm watching.

Here's a 'cheat sheet' of information while in the produce department.

A 5-digit number beginning with an 8 on the produce sticker means its GMO, (Genetically Modified, 8****).

A 5-digit number beginning with an 9 on the produce sticker means its Organic, (9****, typically will say Organic).

A 4-digit number beginning with an 4 on the produce sticker means its Conventionally grown, (4***, might say conventional on it).

Sadly, the potatoes Costco carries start with an 8****.

Fantastic documentary. I would love to be a member of a CSA, problem is it is just so expensive. But on the other hand, so are the health problems that are very likely associated with genetically engineered food and the horrible chemicals that they douse them with.

Another great documentary that has a similar thought process as this one is "Killer at Large", but it looks more at the health deficiencies of mass produced food and the obesity epidemic in our country.

Thanks, Dapper... Monoculture situations are growing, good thing there is a large seed cache in Fort Collins, at CSU.

Bad Religion has a song about this... Might fit right here:
Back in '83 a man came to men and he told me "Son, our way of life is done"
But I was only young

With an eye to the fields speculators and yields rotten to the core,
Monoculture whores entered the bidding wars from distant shores,

I don't wanna be in the land known as destitute and free,
With the grains of wrath blazing a path from sea to shining sea!

Oh the sinuous trails of concrete and rails and exhausted roars,
Population wars setting our future course,
Is profit and greed the only conceit on a scale between
Mere prosperity and inhumanity? It may well be but,

I don't wanna be in the land known as destitute and free,
With the grains of wrath blazing a path from sea to shining sea!

I don't wanna be in the land known as destitute and free,
With the grains of wrath blazing a path from sea to shining sea!
