Wow. Now that definitely rivals the sexy sexy looks of the Triumph Daytona 675. Hopefully it'll be comparable in pricing to the Daytona, I'd love to own a BMW!

I wounder if the single break rotor in the front would limit stopping power or control (pulling on one side)? I bet adjusting that supension is a bitch.

what's the benefit to a single-sided front?

brennahm

Probably a lot easier to control dive.

Single front brake rotors would NOT cause pulling or anything. You'll have less power for sure, but a real high spec single could easily outperform a double OEM spec system with less weight...

meh, seems like a lot of work and cost just to make something "look cool"...from the right side only.

Well, pass people in the left lane and they'll see how cool your bike is from the right side...

I think the bike is sexy. Better looking then their S1000RR (whatever it's called)

Very sexy. I like the unique features. BMW has a tendency to sort the issues out ahead of time vs after production.

Advantages of single side front?
Single adjustment to suspension beats trying to get the independent left and right telescoping adjustments to match perfect.
Less weight overall.
Improved stability under braking.
Ease of working on components.

And for you wet behind the ears motorcycle newbies, it has been tried before. Yamaha GTS1000

This is actually less of a problem than people think, in fact look at the new R1...compression on one fork and rebound on the other - they DEFINITELY don't match.

It's a cool design exercise but I'll be amazed if it sees production.

Screw the bike, I want to see more of your avatar!

It's an obvious photoshop. The rear end has no drive function...any 600 of this caliber would be chain driven, and there is a giant disc rotor where the chain would be.

Additionally the top of the triple clamp on the right side of the bike still has a fork tube sticking up through it. If there is no fork below, why would you need that?

Hate to say it guys, but you've been spoofed.

Chadwick: I'm not an expert on avatars, so I'm not sure if that's a photoshop or not.

+1 on Scotts reply, plus they would have picture either a track version or street. No blinkers or mirrors on this one, but there is a headlight.

The front end of their 1000 looks like Colonel Klink

Don't forget Bimota.

Honda has been working on design for a MotoGP version of the front "swing arm" for a few years now.

seems like it would solve alot of problems, like forks not being evenly matched, and torsion and stiction. Of course, I'm sure it would bring new problems. like added stiction from whatever method they use to keep it from spinning around like a grocery cart wheel :-)
