Should we do a Canyon Blast this Saturday, 8/15? It's been a while since the last one and I'm feelin' the itch. We have done a couple up here on the Northern Front Range and they are great. We meet at the Loaf-N-Jug on HWY 6 in Golden at 8:00 am and go from there. There are 11 canyons between Clear Creek and the Poudre. Last time we got in 6 of 'em I think. Who's up for it????? At any point, you'll be close enough to Denver to bail and head for home if you get tired. Post up here by copying the list below and inserting your handle, so we can tell if anyone want's to go. We do ride spiritedly, so if enough people show up we'll split up the groups and have maps. More to come...

I may tag along. Should have my bike back together tonight. I like to do my 'canyon blasting' during the week when there are less distractions though. Not sure if I've rode with any of you in the past...

This is also posted up on CFRSR. We did one of these last year with CSC, and also did a organized Steamboat ride this year with CSC, too. Most of us have had lots of track time and respectful riding on the street is expected (ride your own ride, no passing on the inside, full gear is a must, and no crashing...check your ego at the door). We're out to rip some canyons and arrive home safely.

A few mainly CSCer's have been on rides with us and they've loved it. Ride with us...you'll have fun.

"Us" is a few folks that hang on CFRSR, as in http://www.cfrsr.org. We've been around since about 2000 or so (someone may correct me here)...another sportbike board that's quite a bit smaller than CSC. We all ride together and know each other pretty well. We do about 3 or 4 organized rides (happen every year) a year and meet up at the track often (after CDR and SCR closed we've been going to IMI). The last few rides I've organized have been posted here, too, and we've seen anywhere from 7 to 15 folks show up. We used to be bigger (25+ peeps on rides) but a few of us have moved on to other things. The folks on CFRSR are all good riders and we're together for the love of our sport (little posting on our board and lots of riding).

We only start at 8 am because we'd like to actually finish this one some day. To do the whole thing without bailing will prolly take about 12 hours! The best we've ever done on this one is about 2/3 before we bailed.

There's a couple, one is on hwy 93 and N. Ruby Dr., the other is on Hwy 6 and Heritage Rd.

Pretty sure there's a Conoco on the West side and the Loaf and Jug is on the East side of Heritage.

Now thats the spirit. I only knew of one at the north end of town off 6 on the right(heading north) which put it on the east side of 6.?? This is all very confusing. I'm in with Wycks' idea...

That one is actually on 93. 6 turns left to head up to Blackhawk at the 6/93/58 intersection. Apparently, we're NOT going to that one. :up:

Ok, so the Loaf N Jug off Hwy. 93 then. The Hwy that goes from Boulder to Golden isn't Hwy. 6. You might want to change your first post so you don't cornfuse people. :up:

It was great meeting a lot of you, I was bummed I couldnt ride with you though, but I gotta say you guys made a hell of an entrance onto 6. So how did the ride end up though? And Sloridr I'll definitely hit you up next sunrise I go onto, I think I am gonna make a habit out of it for all group rides, I was feelin on top of my game when you guys were meeting up, rather than sleepy and groggy.

Yeah...thanks for comin' out! Stupid rain...Aaron and I actually went to Boulder and had lunch and then motored up 36 and down the back way from Estes to the Fort. Good beginning and great ending. Everything okay with the Girl and her bike?

She's good! :) Just minor scratches, and I'm sure a bruised ego. But all is well. She actually made the ride with us down to Deckers...didn't even wimp out and go home. I'm proud of her! :)

Bike and I are fine. like Amber said just a few scratches, little cracked plastic, and a bruised ego. Thanks to everyone who stopped to help and everyone who waited to make sure everything was ok. Sorry for holding up those of you who were unlucky enough to be behind me. I hope the rest of the ride went well. Jim and Amber thanks for talking me into going down to deckers instead of going home. That was a good chill get my head right ride. :)
