dont hate! hha I am jonesing to play this cpu game "street rod" I used to play in school. I dl'd DOSBOX and the game folder with all contents. I was trying to figure out the mount and all that stuff, basically I have dos box & game folder on my desktop. How to I load the game using dosbox? Thanks!

That's not "DOS". DOS games likely require exclusive access to the hardware of the machine, which windows will not give without a special setup.

I have no clue how dosbox works though... I would just use a Virtual PC and load real DOS on it.

Download VMWARE for free.

Load DOS 5.2 or 6.0 on it

Copy the Street Rod folder to the Root of the C: on the Virtual DOS VM

Run the StreetRod executible. file.

What makes it better? I don't have experience with either. I've always used Virtual PC and HyperV.

I like the interface and the performance is about as close to native as you can get. I've tried a variety of the virtualization products over the years (was a beta tester for the original version of VMWare) and this one just works. I've used it to run Windows on Linux, Linux on Windows, Solaris on Linux, and OS/2 on Linux. No hiccups. No hassle.

I have been playing with it all morning.

Setup a virtual print server, license server, a small file server, and a Windows 7 install.

Pretty nice so far. Runs well on a laptop with 4 Gb of RAM :)
