the wife and i are taking the kids hiking tomorrow, and I was wondering who knows of a good, fun, relative easy (for the boys) and scenic trail.
We are looking north Denver to fort collins, and west.
directions would be nice as well

You know me...I'm a RMNP fan. There are a ton of trails of all levels with all sorts of scenery all over the park. Here's a link to the "Easy Trails"... (http://rockymountainnationalpark.com/pages/easy_trails.html)

And if you don't want to go that far, then try one of the trails around Horsetooth Res... (http://www.co.larimer.co.us/parks/Htmp.htm)

If you don't mind the drive, theres a trail called 'Hanging Lake' near Glenwood Springs. Best hike I ever been on. Feels like walking through a Lord of the Rings set.

You can't beat the Longs Peak trail up to Chasm Lake. It is spectacular, but maybe a bit much for young kids. It's about 4 miles each way. There's no park fee at the Longs Peak trailhead, but I think this may be a free weekend in the park anyway.

Arthur's rock in Lory state park is a nice ~2 mile hike IIRC, costs like 5 bucks for the car to get in tho

Ditto. I did this one as a kid with my family. Fun and easy. Very scenic.
