Anybody know of any fantastic free photo editors out there? I just downloaded Gimp 2, but haven't the foggiest on how to use it. I would love to make a photo black and white while leaving one object in color. HELP??? lol

Picasa has that feature but it is limited to a particular circular zone in the picture. It sort of works, if you play with the size and fade of the circle.

Otherwise I think Photoshop

the easiest way in any photo editing is to make a copy of said image, keep one color change the other to blk and wht lay the blk and wht on top of the color and carefully remove (erase) the part you want to see in color. Zoom in to +100% so you can really get the lines right. Here is a link that tells you exactly how to do it in GIMP 2

Paint.net (http://www.getpaint.net/) is a nice free app, assuming you're running XP or Vista.
