I could go for that. I think with Carwin's KO of Gonzaga, (not to mention the KO's of everybody else he's fought), that he deserves it. I think him vs. Velasquez would have been an interesting fight also, but if it's scratched in favor of this, I'm all for it.

think it might be a little bit of a slugfest... especially considering his criticism of lesnar, and the public callout...

i think the wrestling is a draw if carwin can put on good weight... he does use his weight well, though... two ham-handed giants in the center of the cage sounds like some fun...

I think Carwin really needs to take the approach that Randy did, in his title fight with Lesnar. He never got caught up in toe-to-toe striking, but rather fired from the outside, and did his best to neutrilize Lesnar's wrestling, with his own. In the end he still got caught, and Lesnar capitalized with his sheer size and strength. It was a good showing for Randy up until that point though, and he was tiring Lesnar, and holding his own.

The thing is, Carwin has never had to use his wrestling thus far, in his fights. He's ended them all with violent strikes, that having to use G&P has never been necessary. And the fact that nobody has ever pressured him to defend take-downs, makes it that much more of an unknown. So yeah... it remains to be seen, if Carwin can prevent Lesnar from overwhelming him. He has a solid wrestling background, but Randy's Greco, was Olympic caliber.

But yeah... I think that if Carwin can fight from the outside, and intiate his own clinch game against Brock, that he could have some success. Obviously he's a HUGE puncher, so if he can create an opportunity, he could KO Brock, but the flipside is the same. If he has a defensive lapse and gets cracked by Brock, it could be all over. Even if he gets stunned and Brock senses an opportunity to storm, it'll be a rough night.

A very intriguing fight, to-be-sure. I'll absolutely be pulling for the Greeley native though! :D

Carwin is the ex brother in law to one of my employees. Meet his ex and his son a lot and only carwin once. His son is an awsome, lanky soccer player.

Shane's a nice guy, I went to high school with him in Greeley. He's much smarter than you think he is when you see him and then hear what he does in his "free time".
