......Mormons, that is. Salt Lake City, UT. Decided to take a break since I can't work the weekend anyways because of a network shutdown. Went from I'm-da-ho Falls, ID, across 26E. to 89S., by Bear Lake UT down theu Logan to I-15 to Murray (just South of SLC). Great ride, nice twisties, no cops. Although, watch them small-town speed traps. Not as nice as CO, but.... If anyone here plans a trip to SLC, I got a great rate from Expedia (first time I've used them) that was over $10 cheaper than the rate via phone, and only $13 more a night ($62.99 vs. $49.99) than Notel 6. The Pavillion Inn, 5335 College dr., Murray UT. The indoor pool and hut tub are open 24/7, and, this one's for you Scruff-Doggy, there's a state likka' sto' a few blocks North on State!! (Mmmmmm, Bourrrrbonnnnn.....) Then while looking for something interesting to eat and not a chain resteraunt, I ran across The Braza Grill, Brazilian Steakhouse, 5927 S. State St., Murray, UT, 84107, www.brazagrillutah.com (http://www.brazagrillutah.com). Basically, it's all-u-can-eat where they have a salad bar with salad (Duh!), beans, rice, fruit, etc., and you get a plate. Then, the servers come around to your table with roated meats (different cuts of excellent steak, ham, chicken, sausage) and pinapple and slice you a piece or 2 of whatever you want as long as you want. Yummy. Good stuff, exotic, and interesting. The basic dinner is about $20, and (non-alcoholic only) drinks and desert are extra. With tip, drink, and desert it was about $39. Then, I went for a ride today. Went 65N. past the East Canyon State Park, up 66N. to Morgan, then 84E. past The Devil's Slide (gotta grab a pic of that if you go by) to Henefer, down 65S. where it rejoins 65 by the East Canyon State Park, then back down towards Murray. Also worth it is the Emigrant Canyon road as a quick jaunt down and back for the twisies. One warning though, the roads on the twistiest sections of 65 South of the East Canyon State Park lake are VERY bumpy and rippled from the braking done by trucks and trailers, and so is the Emigrant canyon ride. The pavement isn't torn up, just VERY bumpy and bad things can happen if you go in to hot and hit those bumps. It can definately lead to the ol' sphincter inhaling a little seat foam. I'll try and post pics later. Matter of fact Scruffy, sitting here typin' this with said Wild Turkey 101 in-hand, on my way to the pool...... :)
Hey Ralph, how about a directory where we can post great roads and resteraunts? Or do we have it and I missed it?
