I took my youngest on a walk today. I couldn't call it a hike, since it was a really easy trail, but 1.8 miles round trip. Just can't help myself, I gotta share...

There's a sign as you enter the park that reads, "It is illegal to feed the wildlife." This fat boy was seen eating out of the hands of tourists...poor thing...

We pay for these lands. I wonder how people would feel if we went into their homes and carved our initials in their furniture and on their walls...

Kind of a lesson learned today as well. But the best part was the scenery....

Would I be able to let the dog off leash or is it pretty busy?

Alberta Falls is in Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park, no dogs allowed on trails, campground only.

Pet Information Pets are not allowed on park trails, snowplay areas, or in the backcountry. They are allowed in campgrounds, picnic areas, and along roadsides. Pets must be leashed and attended at all times. Never leave pets unattended in your vehicle.

Thanks. Funny, but the little one didn't like walking up. She had a blast walking back, though. As we got back to the parking lot, the rain started coming down in torrents. I just kept thinking of the people we passed on the way down and they were heading up and whining, "How much further is it?"...um, apparently too far.

This really is one of the easier trails. Bear Lake trail is also pretty easy, as it just goes around the lake. The trails that lead off of Bear Lake are nice and definitely scenic. One of them goes up to Emerald Lake...I think about a 2 mile hike and just as you reach Emerald Lake, you're right at timber line.

I like going up there not just for the scenery, but the beetle kill hasn't quite reached this part of the park...yet.

We should have had lunch! We were camping at the Grand Lake Trails this weekend and hiked to Adam's Falls on Friday morning. I'd post the pics, but they really don't do any justice. As raging as the falls were, the pics make it look like a small creek.

Thank you....I'm always looking for new places to hike with my canine best buddy. With her cancer always a concern, I have lots of places I want to take her....soon.
