Ride 08/23/09

[Airborne Helly]

Whats up, just wanted to post up what few pics I had of the ride. Awesome ride, day started out hot but we got some cloud cover so it was very nice. Pace and route was great, would have been a perfect ride had one of our riders not went down. He had gear on and his jacket and jeans definently saved his skin. He was fine, jeans ripped and jacket got scraped up pretty good but walked away fine. His bike was unrideable and had it not been for some very nice locals we would've been stuck for awhile. These guys drove by, stopped to make sure we were ok. None of us had service so they dove him to their house to use their LAN line. He couldn't get ahold of anyone so they came back with a truck and a ramp. Picked up his bike and we followed them to their house. He said he would store the bike in his garage until he could get a truck up there to pick it up, then they gave him a ride to Golden so one of his buddies could pick him up. These two guys single handedly restored my faith in humanity! Anyway, summer is comming to an end so we all need to get out there and put on as many miles as we can, while we can! How was the bike unrideable? Looks like maybe a cracked engine case? I bet that rider will invest in some riding pants before his next trip up in the mts.
