my home town! watch out for the hillbillies. I've nver been to motogp there though, I'm just assuming it's like the 500 or brickyard. I'd like to go sometime though. Some day.

What a great time today! The weather was gorgeous, about 75º, light breeze, sunny. I got to the track around 1pm, walked around for a little while, hit up the vendors. As I was walking around, I could hear the 250's practicing inside then it got quiet. A few minutes later, the big boys got on the track and all you could hear was the roar of the bike exhausts.

Went inside in time to catch most of the qualifying laps and naturally had to take some video of some rider in neon-yellow. Dude must not have been very good cuz his number was 46

Click on each to watch the short videos:

Did some more walking around and ended up in the infield by the Indianapolis Speedway Hall of Fame. The parking lot was filled with bikes, bikes, and more bikes.

I got to get right up against the fence to take some video of the 125's qualifying:

As soon as I saw this shirt, I knew I had to buy it and wear it on my next ride:

I was feeling pretty good for you until the White Castles. How cruel to show that to those of us that can't get any!

Why, oh why, can't we have White Castle and In-n-Out in Colorado?!?!?!

In-N-Out: Yes.
White Castle: Epic fail.

I spent 12 years in Cleveland and refused to go there. Ugh! Rally's rocks though.

White castle burgers:
Roll out ground beef real thin, cut into patties with cookie cutter
Use BIC pen tube to poke about six hole into each patty
Freeze patties
Dice onion put on griddle
Place one patty on top of oinion DO NOT FLIP Cover till there done only a few minutes
Use those ready made dinner rolls as buns and wala you have a homemade White Caslte Burger.

And some White Castles can (and will) go through you!
They are delectable little morsels, however I try to stay away from foods that employ an emergency evacuation from my gut within 3 hours of ingestion. :wtf:

We had a White Castle in KC growing up and I always thought it was soooo disgusting compared to McDonalds happy meals. Yeah that means its really f'ing gross.

What happened to Indy talk!

I'm at the "Yard of bricks" as the commentator from MotoGP called it. The 125's just finished up. There are some seriously skilled guys in that group that will become the Rossis and Lorenzos.

Spoiler:

And Rossi crashes out. He was in the lead after Pedrosa crashed, but he went down too. Looks like it is Lorenzo's to lose now and he is so much quicker than everyone else.

Another reason not to race (or spectate for that matter) in Indy.

I couldn't believe it...every damn time Fox cut out for a commercial break, another leader crashed! I was just waiting to hear that Lorenzo went down too. lol
Regardless...yay for Hayden on the podium!!

+1 for Hayden. Good to see him back in the front. Would have been a boring race without him holding on for third.

What an incredible weekend! The racing was awesome, the weather was gorgeous, and the racing was exceptional!!! General admission tix were $75, but we got them for free. We sat in the stands for qualifying yesterday, but we decided to head out to the little straightaway between turns 5 and 6 where I shot all the videos. I've got pics to add too, but they'll have to wait until I get home and can download them from my camera. As you can see in the vid, I was standing about 25' from the track as they came roaring by.

The 125 racers are exceptional racers. It's amazing to see them develop the skillset to carry as much corner speed as they do. To their and the 250 guys' credit, their lap times aren't far off the big boys times. I think Pedrosa took the pole with a 1:39.something and the 125 and 250 riders were turning in 1:45's.

Some of the 125cc riders:

The 250 race was nice to watch as well. Simoncelli pulled off a nice inside pass to take the lead and held on to win.

Here's the first lap of the championship race. I can't begin to tell you how LOUD their bikes really are.

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/canezach/th_MotoGPLap1.jpg (http://s298.photobucket.com/albums/mm251/canezach/?action=view&current=MotoGPLap1.flv)

After Pedrosa crashed, Rossi took the lead briefly beforehe crashed as well. With Lorenzo in the lead, he had about a 12-second lead on the next closest pack, which were DeAngelis, Hayden, Dovizioso, and Edwards. It was great for Hayden to stand on the podium, but I really wish Pedrosa and Rossi hadn't crashed. The race between them and Lorenzo would've been incredibly exciting to watch.

Here's DeAngelis, Hayden, Dovi, and Edwards:
