The Academic Technology unit of the Campus Chief Technology Officeinvites applications for afull-timeexempt professional position. The Academic Technology unit supports the academic mission of the campus by providing consultative instructional technology support to faculty; and strategic leadership in shaping the campus’s educational technology environment. The role of this position is to assist faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences in using educational technologies in their teaching, research, and service.

Job Responsibilities: The successful applicant will assist Arts and Sciences faculty through consultations, trainings, and referrals in learning and using instructional technologies such as student response systems, learning management systems, collaboration software, digital images, video, and audio, and classroom presentation tools. This position reports to the Manager of Instructional Technology Support Services, which is part of the Academic Technology unit. This position is located within the Arts and Sciences Support for Education Through Technology (ASSETT) Program of the College of Arts and Sciences to facilitate interaction between this position and Arts and Sciences faculty.

Required Qualifications:
· Master's degree in an appropriate discipline, such as such as any natural science discipline, educational technology, or instructional design. A bachelor's degree and significant credit toward a master's degree combined with three years of experience in a similar academic technology support role may be substituted for the master's degree.

· Experience in providing academic or instructional technology user support

· Demonstrated understanding of instructional technology tools such as PowerPoint, Blackboard course management system, clickers, and digital media.

· Demonstrated understanding of standard office suite packages, e.g., Microsoft Office; and standard web page development packages, such as Adobe Dreamweaver.

· Demonstrated understanding of digital media and its application to learning.


Preferred Qualifications / Required Competencies:

Preferred Qualifications:
· At least one semester of post-secondary teaching experience.

· Demonstrated understanding of quantitative data analysis skills.

· Demonstrated understanding of tools used in advanced science teaching such as Geographic Information Systems, data analysis tools, such as PASW statistics, Mathematica, R, or SAS.


Required Competencies:
· Excellent communication, leadership, time management, and presentation skills.

· Ability to provide outstanding customer service to College of Arts & Sciences faculty, and the ability to work effectively with faculty, students and staff members.

· Ability to provide training to small groups of faculty.

· Ability to act as a consultant to faculty on the use of educational technologies.
