Posting Description
This position serves as the School of Medicine (SOM) Website Support and Training Coordinator and will be responsible for providing technical assistance and training needed to develop, maintain, and effectively utilize the school's website. The initial focus of the role will be to catalogue existing web content on the SOM Dean's Office homepage and migrate relevant components into Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS). In addition to migration of existing content, this position must have the skills and ability needed to incorporate newly created written and visual materials to the school's website.

This role will require a strong knowledge of MOSS, familiarity with various web tools and technologies, and the ability to troubleshoot web-related problems across multiple browsers and devices. In addition to supporting the SOM Dean's Office, this position will assist SOM departments, divisions, centers and institutes to migrate their existing web pages into MOSS. As an advisor and trainer, the person in this role must be able to address departmental MOSS questions and training needs, as a supplement to central campus MOSS training and support, in a timely and professional manner. The position will interface with the SOM Web Content Writer, University Web Services, and other campus resources as necessary to help guide the process and to ensure a seamless transition in to MOSS.

Once the transition to MOSS is complete, this position will be responsible for continued technical support of the school's website. The position is full-time and is anticipated to minimally continue until August 2010. The Web Design Coordinator will report to the SOM Dean's Office IT Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Catalogue existing web content on the SOM Dean's Office homepage and migrate relevant components into MOSS.
* Incorporate original written and visual content into the SOM website, as needed.
* Validate that web content is accurate across multiple environments and troubleshoot problems, as necessary.
* Provide basic MOSS training for SOM Dean's Office staff to enable them to make updates to MOSS sites after migration.
* Provide ongoing support in the SOM Dean's Office for the duration of the MOSS migration project.
* Collaborate with the SOM Dean's Office IT Manager to ensure that the migration to MOSS is on schedule and that major milestones are being achieved in a timely manner.
* Work collaboratively with SOM departments, divisions, centers, and institutes to assist them in the migration of their existing site into MOSS.
* Be available to meet with the school's various constituencies as needed to address questions and provide training.
* Interface with the SOM Web Content Writer, University Web Services, and other campus resources as necessary to help guide the process and address any SOM MOSS issues.
* Answer departmental MOSS questions and training needs as a supplement to central campus MOSS training and support.
* Work with University Web Services to create new MOSS site build outs and update site permissions as needed.

Salary Range: $48,000 to $68,000


Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications)
Minimum Qualifications
* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Two years experience designing and building web sites in a higher education, corporate or professional environment.
* Two years experience using front-end web design tools including but not limited to: Dreamweaver, Contribute, FrontPage

* Experience that demonstrates the ability to work with individuals with a wide range of computer and web design skills
* Experience designing websites using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) and the use of MOSS templates.
* Proficiency using front-end web design tools including but not limited to: Dreamweaver, Contribute, FrontPage.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Proven record of excellent customer service skills
* Experience working with a web content management system (CMS) and templates for creating and managing HTML content
