Hey guys,

I'll be staying in Craig for work on Sunday and Monday night so I would be riding there sunday night and back tuesday afternoon. The weather looks like its going to be in the mid 70s.

Do you think it would be a good idea to ride instead of drive? Any route suggestions?

Oh, and I ride a 08 cbr600rr.

Thanks!
Brandon

Um, why wouldn't you ride it?

Fun route? Well, you're on Hwy 40 most of the trip which isn't bad, but you can get to 40 in some fun ways too...

Oh and watch out for CSP up there, they make a special point of going after speeders.

You'll be fine.

Park it 1 hour before sunset and don't get on the road untill noon. :D

That is a great ride, I just did it 3 weeks ago. My only concern would be if everything has cleared from the snow this week. If you want to vary your route a liitle on the return, after you get over Rabbit ears you can head over to Walden and then through Poudre canyon into Fort Collins

Just watch the weather for the big towns in between here and there. Have some good gear, just in case.

I went out to Steamboat a few weeks ago, up 40 (like rforsythe said) and it was beautiful. Then I came back turning on HWY 9 at Kremlin. Coming back was much quicker, although not as nice of a ride.

Alright you guys conviced me.

My gear consists of shoei helmet, leather riding jacket with coldweather liner, and leather riding gloves. Since I'm going for work I'll have to ride in my steal toe DMs and jeans.

I'll keep an eye on the weather. The only thing I'm worried about is rain or snow so I think I might be ok.

Thanks for the advice. 8)
