Was just wondering if you riders could tell me what range of temp your bikes are reaching during typical riding this time of year. Right now my '03 ZX-6R is running about 170 in the city and 155 on the highway. Just making sure that is normal and I am not doing any damage to the motor. Might seem like a stupid question but this is going to be my first spring and summer season with the bike.

Thanks,
motaboy

Yeah, that is quite good actually. Just to give you an idea-my GSXR is a liquid cooled, and has back up fans. The thermostat does not even open to allow the liquid to cool until like 195 or 197 (somewhere there abouts). The cooling fans do not kick on till 225. And that is factory. So 155 and 170 are to the low end, and you are probably not even using the liquid cooling on the bike at that point.

My R1 is consistanly 210 -220 (fan regulated) while in town. It usually runs 170's-180's on the highway or out of town.

I wish my bike ran as cool as yours, especially while stuck in traffic in mid July! Needless to say, your operating temps look fine.

My temps are the same as wraithR1 on my R1, it his 207 pretty quickly then the fan turns on, the temp then drops. I always felt my bike runs hot until I met others with the same year that run the same. It seems to run hotter now and did not run this way when I bought it. But the overlow has antifreeze in it sooo....
