I got me a speeding ticket

But I honestly didn't know I was going that fast. I was driving my sister's car back from chicago, and the speedometer crapped out around Iowa/Nebraska area. Anyone know if they(this was on I76, north of Ft Morgan) ever drop such a thing for defective equipment, if you fix it? Or at least plead it down for having something break?

I had a speedo that was off. Got a ticket in Aurora. Went to a shop that used to be off Speer and got a $12 cable and showed the receipt. Got it knocked down a good amount but don't remember exactly. It was over a decade ago...

I probably depends on how fast you were going. If you were passing cars and could realistically know that you were speeding you might be screwed. If you were going with the flow of traffic and fix the problem you have a shot. Basically if you were going 100 MPH your screwed. If your were going 5 over the limit you can probably make it work. But thats just my opinion.
