Where is It:
Off of Gold Camp Rd, to the north
GPS Coordinates Start off of Gold Camp Rd: *note this way will be so hard it be over a 10 rating, especially on big bikes*
38.735456, -104.987605‎
+38° 44' 7.64", -104° 59' 15.38"

GPS Coordinates End at Deer Park (FR379), this is where you SHOULD start. Take FR379 to get to here:
38.753565, -104.977713‎
+38° 45' 12.83", -104° 58' 39.77"

How Challenging:
I would say depends on what direction your going. This is a 10 going from Deer Lake down to Gold Camp Rd. This is beyond a 10 to go up from Gold Camp Rd. In fact it might not even be possible for 650cc and bigger to go up, believe me down was pretty tough, and it tested our skid plates.

My Take:
This is a fun road in that it test your ability. Things can go wrong on this trail so don't do this alone or near night time. It seems all the hardcore jeeps come out to do this, and you might see them winch their way up. The pictures I am about to show fail to show how rocky and how steep this was.

Starting from FR379:

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r134/modette99/COWeekendWarriors/CORoadRoutesDirt/TellerCountyCO/FR370C/GOPR0404.jpg

It gets smooth and gives you a false sense of "this is not that bad":

Then you hit the next rock section:

Again it seems fine:

Are those rocks?

I have fallen down HARD enough times for this year. I wish I was good enough to ride that stuff but man, pain HURTS!

Looks like an awesome ride too. Perfect weather for it.

Some of it looks pretty fun...if I had a dirt bike. On the KLR, no thanks.

I'm still having bad flashbacks about Pennsylvania Gulch... This looks similar to worse...

This is the end at Gold Camp Rd, a nice deep water crossing...there is room to go around for those not so brave:
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r134/modette99/COWeekendWarriors/CORoadRoutesDirt/TellerCountyCO/FR370C/GOPR0555.jpg

I went through that water hole a few years ago on my old KTM LC4 not knowing it was that deep! Was iffy for a while if I'd make it...

I was up that area on Saturday also, took FS 379 up to Mount Baldy and then the back way across to FS 376, a really fun hill climb (that my lifted Sidekick has trouble on) and a really steep rocky downhill that gets the heart beating a bit...
Then where FS 376 is gated off there is a trail to the West which is really difficult and rocky, went for a bit and then turned back...

I think I saw you guys coming down FS 376, I was heading out to gold camp and two red bikes were heading up.

Yeah, some time I'd like to make it to the end of that trail, I should start on that trail next time so I'm not already tired...

Were you the one that had a ranger behind you that was on the mic? The 20mph, 20mph, please its 20mph only, slow down ranger...LOL

Chances are it was us....did the one red bike look to have ape hangers? I was wearing all silver colored gear, Tour Master jacket, and Klim pants.

Yeah that was me, the ranger pointed at me to pull over and then just took a picture of my license plate and sent me on my way...

I wonder why he did that...did you ask him?

I figured he heard a 2-stroke and just wanted to verify I was plated... Don't want any un-plated 2-strokes riding around scaring aspen viewers...
