Yup thats right got my first clutch up done today. Although not my first on a bike as I just got off the dirt. This was my first on a sport bike. I rode it about 1/4 mile in comfort. A proud time for me.:applause:
The wife however was not so happy about it LOL
Then she admitted it looked cool.

I think some people have are born with an ability to wheelie and some aren't (me). I've spent hours, days, weeks, years on bicycles and dirt bikes trying to learn to wheelie and have never been able to find a balance point for more than 15 or 20 feet. Congratulations. I'm jealous.

Well thank you. I still try every now and again and it comes right up. Now gonna be working on 2nd gear . When it's safe of course.

practice on a bicycle- stand on it with rear brake on--- standing still-- have friend lift front end up to balance point- u help by shifting weight back a bit-- hold for few seconds- add pedaling eventually--- ridiculosly fun

Only time I have done that was on a dirt bike, and I hurt soon there afterwards.

I also learned on a dirt bike. My 05 KX 250F. I just sold it to buy my wife a 250 ninja because it is something we can do together.

As for the wheelie... I think I'm having a prob in 2nd gear. My road speed may be a little to slow. The bike seems to be lugging a little. But no doubt I will get it done.

How's 2nd gear safer?!?

Ummmm I dont think it is safer. I meant when the area / place / time was safe to practice. :)

I've had students launch the loaner ninja 250 into wheel stands..by accident...one lady rode it across the range ploped it down then rode up a flight of stairs...didnt dump it either! she even backed it down in neutral...never rode before the class

HAHAHAHAH that would be funny to see. (sorry I have a sick mind) I have tried to wheelie the 250 but she gets mad about it so I quit trying. I dont want to break it. I'll just keep the 900 and work on that.

yea i just cant seem to wheelie anything good either and ive been trying for years too. i could however ride my crf450 supermoto for some good distance in 2nd and 3rd up on one.

and i could get my 05 zx6r to "pop" them pretty good with throttle chops.

but this 2005 r6 i am riding right now i cant get anything power wheelies on!? i even put -1/+3 on it and still nothing???

wtf? is there a rpm range i need to do power wheelies? what rpm should i "dump" the clutch to do clutch wheelies in? it seems whenever i try to dump the clutch it just rolls out into gear all smooth and no wheelie.

oh well. i can jump my dirt bike pretty good now so i dont feel like a total pussy on 2 wheels.

oh ok...

the one finger on the clutch was something i hadn't thought of that really looks like it would help. i have smaller hands (mx glove size small) so i generally have 3 or all 4 fingers on the clutch when riding a street bike and it has always driven me nuts. who makes levers for small hands?

also popping the clutch and giving gas at the same time isnt something i've tried before either. he says do it in one motion

however stunt bikes usually have a gigantic rear sprocket too though so that makes things alot easier.

The one finger thing is hard for me. I use 2 . I had to quit the wheelie thig though. My rear tire is bad and it spins way too much.

NIce thanks for those links. I figured that when learning to wheelie clutching is the best way to start off.
